Nepal Federal Health System Project
The impact of federalisation on Nepal's health system
The impact of federalisation on Nepal's health system
Nepal's move to a federal government system has led to significant change in the governance and operation of the country's health system. This research project is tracking this immense health system reform effort in real time, drawing upon the experiences, perceptions and expertise of health system actors from across all levels of government, and working with key stakeholders to co-develop and implement initiatives to ensure that the benefits of federalism are captured, and the problems that emerge are tackled.
The Nepal Federal Health System team brings together researchers from universities and community organisations in the UK and Nepal, including:
UK partners: University of Sheffield, Canterbury Christ Church University, Bournemouth University, University of Chester, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine; University of Essex, University of Greenwich
Nepal Partners: Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences, PHASE Nepal, Patan Academy of Health Sciences.
