Dr Sujan Babu Marahatta is currently the professor of public health at Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences (MMIHS) and Nepal Open University (NOU).He is also the program led of Master of Public Health course at MMIHS.He is playing led role to develop international links with universities and institutions to strengthen research and teaching profile of MMIHS and NOU.He is also visiting faculty at Liverpool John Moores University UK. He has received postdoctoral research grants from WHO-TDR and research grants from different agencies.He has published 60 original and review articles in peer reviewed journal and one book chapter. Dr Marahatta is the recipient of Professor Emeritus Khunying Tranakchit Harinasuta Award for the outstanding performance in PhD 2007 batch at Faculty of Tropical Medicine Mahidol University Thailand. He is currently an editor of Journal of Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences (JMMIHS) and reviewers of various journals. He is member of International Epidemiology Association (IEA) and Member, Society of Health Care Epidemiology of America (SHEA). He served as a Member of High Level Health Policy drafting committee under the chairmanship of Health Minister of Nepal. Likewise he was the member of higher level education commission representing the health sciences cluster and played active role to recommend the education policy to the government.
Prof Marahatta is the Co-PI of the HSRI Federalization and health project stationed at MMIHS Nepal. The postdoctoral fellow will work under his guidance and supervision as a part for the Research work in Nepal.
